Exclusive Interview with Executive Producer

Production News: Day #13
July 15th:
The rest of the Wood family came while we were up on the route somewhere halfway between North Fork and the Big Sky Resort. We pulled over on other side to get a better view of the whole resort from high above with the Lone Peak in the background. Couple of people pulled over to see Bigfoot and to take pictures with him.

Production News: Day #12
July 13th:
To Rat Lake once again to finish up what we had started from the day before. From several days of shooting outdoors, our director and the rest of us had learned something new:  that the light in the mountains and forests of Montana is everchanging!  Gene had to create a reflector that he brought from his studio to shine light towards the actors, illuminating their expressions. Sure enough, it did the trick.  What a feat trying to accomplish it and swapping away those merciless mosquitos and horseflies!

Production News: Day #11
July 11th:
We went back to Rat Lake this time for a different scene, the one where Bigfoot has saved the day. We went there early in the morning, the chilly air still biting. It was a long and tough day with all the horseflies and mosquitoes harassing us all day long. We discovered an absolutely beautiful frog and it became our pet for few minutes before returning back to its home. The boys also discovered an abandoned raft floating alongside the shore nearby. We had Ruan remove the raft, putting it safely out of the frame and made a note of it so we could play with it later. More to come...

Production News: Day #10
July 9th:
Going back to North Fork but this time we explored deeper into the area, continuing the shooting of siblings’ adventure searching for Bigfoot. The further we went, the deeper we were in the woods where we were faraway from any familiar sights, the more it became real.  The farther away we were, the more real the Bigfoot became...

Production News: Day #9
July 8th:
Finally, a new choice of location was made for the scenes of the siblings going out on an adventure. We settled at the entrance of North Fork for the shoot. It was also Marisa’s first day of shooting; she was frustrated with getting into the character but after awhile, she found her groove and did a fantastic job.

Production News: Day #8
July 7th:
Paul Rutowski, a Sprint Relay representative came and visited us the night before taking a fantastic tour around the cabin. We filmed right off the Lone Mountain street facing towards Lone Peak with the view of the village and the resort. The scene was when Bigfoot says where he sleeps and Tyler says where his family are at—meanwhile, during our shoot, people turned their heads when they drove past us. Some people actually turned around and pulled over to see what was going on with Bigfoot on scene. Some waited until they got the chance to take the pictures with Bigfoot, as if he was some huge movie star.

Production News: Independence Day
July 4th:
Independence Day…HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AMERICA! We had to cancel our shooting day when we found the RZR in need of maintenance.  We took the opportunity to bust out the BBQ and roast ribs, bake cornbread, and grab the opportunity to get to know each other more under the beautiful explosions of 4th of July fireworks with the backdrop of majestic mountains, forests, and rivers of Montana.

Production News: Day #6
July 3rd:
We drove over to Rat Lake for the first time to film the true opening scenes of the film. LK and Dante were brought again to do their little boys’ fishing scenes.  When we got there, we took all of the equipment out onto the RZR and made several trips to get everybody and the equipment to the destination. It was a long and tough day for all of us with several takes, trying to adapt with the weather and the surroundings. A situation arose when the owner of the cottage barged in our humble abode that we were staying for one whole month and interfered with our production.

Production News: Day #5
July 2nd:
We brought a RZR (a type of ATV) across the river, around the corner from our cabin, and into the hidden forest littered with ancient logs.  Decomposed by years of nature, yet beautiful…the antique yet majestic logs were nothing like anything we’ve ever seen. The production team set out to film the scene of where Tyler gets lost in the forest after playing “hide n’ seek” with his siblings.  The spooky part was when Bigfoot wasn’t fully revealed but running around in the furthest parts of the background, a plot device meant to hold the audience’s suspense throughout the movie.
