ASL Films is an independent, deaf owned and operated production company for all feature film media. Founded in 2005 by partners Mark Wood and Mindy Moore, ASL Films is committed to creating sophisticated entertainment with an appeal that both inspires and rewards sponsors and audiences alike. At its inception the company made its first mark producing a feature length film, Forget Me Not which was a huge success that earned many raves and encores from all over the country.

ASL Films has recently produced another feature length film, Wrong Game that gave ASL Films the reputation of producing cutting edge films in ASL specifically tailored for audiences that shares the common language.

The company is currently preparing for another production, The Legend of The Mountain Man, a family adventure and drama that follows children from a dysfunctional family that were sent away to their grandparents and there, they encounter a unknown creature. The film will make its debut in Fall 2008.

About the Producers

Mark Wood, Executive Producer

Mark Wood grew up in Northern California and attended CSD of Fremont. His passion is acting and he loves to express the art of storytelling into real life! His first taste of public acting was at 14 when he won a storytelling competition and realized he had a talent for pursuing an acting career. Mark also does producing and directing and has done, The Miracle Worker at Center North Carolina School for the Deaf, 1995. Any Number Can Die - 2005 and Flowers in the Dark - 2006 at Indiana School for the Deaf. He worked as a Distance Learning ASL instructor at ISD for two years, but during the summer of 2006 he is acting as a director and producer for a movie Forget Me Not which was released in the Fall 2006. Now he is full-time filmmaker. He just finished directing the second feature film Wrong Game. Mark lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife Tanya and their son, Jasper.

Mindy Moore, Producer

mindymoore.jpgMindy Moore is widely considered a deaf multi-talented lady. The passion of theater has always been in her blood. Mindy has flourished all the way through the years in her performing arts calling. In high school, she has been involved with innumerable stage theater drama. She departed from high school for Gallaudet University and became drawn into the TV/Media program. During the summer, Mindy had the opportunity of a lifetime to be involved with National Theatre for the Deaf. While Mindy was at Gallaudet, she composed scripts for and had an acting role in the TV show, Deaf Moonlite Show, and also was involved in another TV show as a performer: Florida Ave. These sitcoms had 6 shows at 30 minutes each. This is when Mindy became spellbound with the film aspect of performing. Mindy passed the experience she had achieved to students at Texas School for the Deaf. She works as a Drama/Deaf Studies and Art instructor there for children in kindergarten through 5 th grade. Mindy has wrought numerous screenplays for the winter and spring plays at Texas School for the Deaf. Not only this, but she has also produced two cinemas, Little Deaf Spies (Length: one hour) and Bullying Others (Length: 10 minutes). In 2003 Mindy made a note-worthy accomplishment: Little Deaf Spies was selected to be included at the CIMI Movie Festival in Chicago, IL. Mindy travels all over America with her husband Theron Parker and 2-year old son, Elon. The stellar duo is always conducting workshops, performances, and children's storytelling. Mindy has been scripting vivid stories for the presentations. Theron and Mindy have been scripting and filming commercials in their spare time.
